"Tension is who you think you should be. Relaxation is who you are"
Chinese Proverb

A bit about me...
I have always had a passion for holistic wellness, but my journey to becoming a massage therapist and bodyworker started, ironically, when I was studying the mind. Whilst training in psychotherapy I became absorbed with the work of Austrian psychoanalyst Wilhelm Reich (1897 - 1967). Reich brought light to the concept of muscular tension developing in response to trauma and societal pressures, which in turn limits emotional expression and energy flow. Something deep inside me resonated.
I am fascinated with the mind-body connection, and how our anatomical design can support both the expression and suppression of feelings and emotions. I love working with people to allow what may have been hidden beneath layers of self-protection or muscular tension to gently surface into awareness, through touch, thereby allowing physical and emotional release.
I approach my work with a warm and compassionate heart, striving for a truly holistic connection with my clients. By becoming deeply present and listening to the truth of each layer of experience in our body, we can each gain a conscious awareness of and trust in ourselves, be more who we are, speak our truth more clearly, and listen to ourselves and others with more compassion and less judgement. I firmly believe that massage and bodywork can benefit everyone - and I would love to support you on your journey to greater balance and wellness.
